The local specialties of Vinaros

Vinaros represents one of the enclaves on the shores of the Mediterranean where the sea is very generous. Here, you can enjoy its fish and seafood: we particularly recommend anchovies, eels but also sardines.

In Vinaròs and in the region, everyone knows the famous “Fiesta del langostino” prawns. Have you ever tasted it? Thus, the gamba de Vinaròs, with its unparalleled flavor, texture and quality, is recognized throughout the world. It is the star to taste in the different dishes to enjoy the delicious local cuisine.

The traditional dishes of Vinaros go beyond the gamba: fish suquets, llandetes of red mullet with potatoes, anchovies or sardines in escabèche, octopus sulsit, cuttlefish with brutesca… It makes your mouth water, no  ?

We can also mention the mackerel xapada or the countless recipes based on rice, such as rice with mantis shrimp, arròs a banda, arrossejat or rice with espardenyes (sea cucumbers) are some of the most popular .

And in the region, these fish are fished in the traditional way, with respect for the environment.

So, if you have the opportunity to see the fishermen working very early in the morning, you will discover that they unload the collected fish at the port before the producers of local specialties prepare them with the tasty oils and vinegars of the area.

You can also take advantage of high quality preserves and salted meats to taste on site.  ! You can also bring them back as a gift or to enjoy in winter because they will delight the palate of all gourmets.

Of course there are also sun-kissed fruits and vegetables which are a pure delight! As for vegetable specialties, we recommend the stuffed aubergines, but also the famous empanadillas! You will also love the cocs with tomatoes and peppers and the al caliu potatoes.
